The vaccine has been given to front-line healthcare workers, Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the minister for cabinet affairs Mohammed Abdullah al-Gergawi.
The number of cases in UAE seem to have stabilized, thanks to aggressive measures the authorities took early on. Last week UAE reported a recovery rate of 96.7% and a mortality rate of 0.5%. As of Tuesday, UAE reported 136,149 cases and 497 deaths since the pandemic began.
