On Friday evening in Corpus Christi, Texas, a natural gas explosion rocked the Calpine Company Generation Plant located along Buddy Lawrence Drive, killing one person at around 6.30pm. A fire ensued soon after the explosion, but city officials said that the fire is now out.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion.
