A 4.7-magnitude earthquake strikes Indonesia.

An hour ago, an earthquake was reported by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, 111 km south of Manokwari, West Papua, Indonesia at a shallow depth of 17km. The European Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.7 earthquake as well.

As is usual the exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might revised in the next hours or minutes as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their report.

Towns or cities that might have felt the quake might include Manokwari (pop. 53,200) located 111 km from the epicenter.
