On Tuesday evening, a massive blaze destroyed 12 homes at Kitchener construction site, in Beckview Drive near Huron and Fischer-Hallman, Roads, Ontario, Canada.
The initial call came at around 7.50pm. Firefighters were quickly deployed to the scene but it took them hours to extinguish the fire. Fire prevention officer Richard Brooks said that twelve homes, which were all under construction, were completely destroyed. Another six houses are believed to have been damaged. He also said that high winds helped the fire to spread, but were still lucky that the fire didn’t spread more.
It could’ve been a lot worse. It could’ve jumped the street. We already had exposure damage on buildings across the street.

Residents were afraid that the fire will spread closer to their homes, but luckily it did not. Estimates put the damage at over $1million. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
