The Israeli government has reinstated the mandatory use of masks indoors as the Delta variant (Indian variant) of coronavirus spreads in Israel increasing the number of cases. The mandatory use of masks will start on Friday 25th June, noon.
Coronavirus czar Nachman Ash announced it on Thursday, and said that the indoor mask mandate will come into effect, as the number of coronavirus cases are increasing at a rapid pace. He is recommending to avoid flights especially for those that are not vaccinated.
I call on the public to consider whether traveling abroad is essential. It is highly advisable to avoid non-essential travel abroad.

While Israel has one of the highest vaccination rate in the World, it still has not reached the 80%figure, required for herd immunity.
Last Thursday, Israel reported more than 100 cases for the fourth day in a row, and 84% of those seriously ill are people that have not been vaccinated. The Delta variant is responsible for the 70% of the new cases over the past week.
