Based on local sources, at least four ships off the coast of the United Arab Emirates lost control of their ships, as they were unable control the steering of the ship. The vessels, all oil tankers named Queen Ematha, the Golden Brilliant, Jag Pooja and Abyss, broadcasted that they are not in control of their ship via the ‘Automatic Identification System Trackers’ around the same time. It is believed that a group of nine armed people boarded one of the ships.
This incident comes four days after in the same region, there was an attack on an Israeli ship, which was blamed on Iran. The attack resulted in two deaths, escalating the tensions between Israel and Iran.
