Ferry capsizes in Sri Lanka; casaulties reported.

On Tuesday a ferry capsized in Kinniya in Eastern Sri Lanka, 267 km east of Colombo. Authorities reported at least six casualties. It is not yet known what caused the ferry to capsize. It is not kniwn how many people were on board the ferry before the accident, but 12 people were saved.

Navy spokesperson Captain Indika de Silva said that the search and rescue operation for others is ongoing. The ferry left Kurinchakeni and meant to travel to the town of Kinniya in the country’s eastern coast.
