On Monday morning a Taiwanese Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashed into the sea off the island’s southeast coast. According to the Presidential office the pilot ejected safely and was rescued woon afterwards. This accident marks the second loss of a Taiwanese fighter jet in three months.

The pilot,Lieutenant Colonel Huang Chung-kai, ejected at around 11.30 a.m (03.30 GMT) after reporting that there were mechanical problems. The Presidential office also said in its statement that it currently attempting to recover the fighter jet.
