Local sources reported that the passenger ship (coastal steamer) RICHARD WITH ran aground at around 7:00am UTC today outside Sognefjord, Norway. There were 67 people on board at the moment of the accident.
There might be leakage of water inside due to the crash into the rocks. The ship had a hole in the ballast tank. These tanks are full of water and are used to equalize weight differences in ships. The ship is currently stabilized on an islet. Divers are on their way to assess the damage on the ship.
So far, the crew of 53 and 14 service personnel are still on the ship. More details to follow.
