Local sources have revealed that Uzbekistan air defense forces have shot down an Afghanistan military jet after it attempted to violate Uzbekistan’s border.

The pilot of the fighter jet managed to eject in time and survived. He was immediately treated by Uzbekistan’s healthcare staff. Uzbekistan is worried about Taliban managing Afghanistan and received a number of refugees that fleed Afghanistan when the terror group was surrounding Kabul. Recently, the Uzbekistan Defense Ministry detained 84 Afghanistan soldiers when they fled Kabul after the Taliban surrounded it.

Two weeks ago the Uzbekistan army conducted a joint military drill with Russia in preparation for a Taliban takeover of Afghanistan which might possibly lead to deteriorating security in central Asia.
